Photocell (Note: Photovoltaic cell) is also called photoresistor (photoresistor or light-dependent resistor, the latter abbreviated as ldr) or light pipe (photoconductor). Commonly used materials are cadmium sulfide and selenium. , Aluminum sulfide, lead sulfide and bismuth sulfide and other materials. These materials have the characteristic that their resistance decreases rapidly under the irradiation of light of a specific wavelength. This is because the carriers generated by the light are involved in conduction and drift under the action of the applied electric field. The electrons rush to the positive pole of the power supply, and the holes rush to the negative pole of the power supply, so that the resistance of the photoresistor drops rapidly.
The photoresistor is a kind of resistor made by the photoelectric effect of semiconductor, whose resistance value changes with the intensity of incident light; the incident light is strong, the resistance decreases, the incident light is weak, and the resistance increases.
The photoconductive cell is a sensor that can detect light. They are small, inexpensive, low power consumption, easy to use and will not wear out. They are commonly referred to as CdScells (they are made of cadmium sulfide), photoresistors (LDR) and photoresistors. When other electric lamps cause high light, the resistivity of the photoresistor will decrease as it increases.
